Aimed at guitar players who are accustomed to the neck of a steel string, electric or arch top guitar, but want to play a fine nylon string guitar. The HILL GUITAR CLASSIC CROSSOVER MODEL is an excellent, concert grade, hand made nylon string guitar, featuring a narrower neck and cutaway. Most steel string players have never played a truly fine nylon string guitar, or if they have, the width of the classical neck can be uncomfortable for a non-classical player. There is a huge difference between commercial grade classical instruments in most music stores, and a fine handmade nylon string guitar. The beauty of nylon strings is in the tone colors it can produce, and it takes light weight construction and a finesse of building to bring those colors out. Although many well-known steel string guitar companies have tried to make nylon string guitars, they come up short, because the basic engineering of a nylon string is lighter, and very different in many other subtle (and not so subtle) ways.
