Luther Enloe

Possessing a distinctively resonant sound quality, lyrical phrasing, and technical finesse, classical guitarist Luther Enloe has received acclaim from concert presenters and audience members alike for the expressive command of his live performances.

John Sutherland, his former teacher at the University of Georgia, said, "Luther's performances are wonderful. His sound is one of the best I have ever heard."

A recent solo concert highlight includes the premiere performance of Tonoi XI for solo guitar, written for and dedicated to Luther Enloe, by Atlanta composer Nickitas Demos.

Calder Spring Equinox Concert Series at Agnes Scott College, the Gordon State University Recital Series, the Warner Robins Community Concert Association Series, Callaway Auditorium at LaGrange College, the Cathedral of St. Philip Concert Series, Sorrell Chapel at Troy University, Oglethorpe Auditorium in Savannah, Georgia, Fickling Hall at Mercer University, Ramsey Concert Hall at the University of Georgia, Frost Chapel at Berry College, the Susan B. Harris Chapel at Young Harris College, Hoag Auditorium at the University of North Georgia, Max Noah Recital Hall at Georgia College, the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina, the Ursuline Centre in Great Falls, Montana, the Emerson Center for Arts and Culture in Bozeman, Montana, as well as the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

In addition to performing as a solo concert artist, Luther Enloe is active as a soloist and chamber musician with numerous ensembles. Recent collaborative performances include Joaquin Rodrigo's Fantasía para un gentilhombre with the Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra, Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra, the U.S. premiere of Enjott Schneider's oratorio Klange des Lichts with the Vega String Quartet and the Glenn Chancel Choir at Emory University, as well as premieres with Atlanta's new music ensembles Bent Frequency, and neoPhonia. Television broadcasts of Luther Enloe's solo and chamber performances are frequently featured in Atlanta on Georgia Public Broadcasting's Knowledge Channel.

A dedicated teacher, Luther Enloe holds the positions of Part-Time Instructor of Guitar at Georgia State University and Artist Affiliate in Guitar at Emory University. He is an active adjudicator and clinician, having appeared at numerous festivals and conferences across the United States, including the ASTA National Conference, the Columbus State University Guitar Symposium and International Guitar Competition, the University of Louisville Guitar Festival and Competition, the GMEA In-Service Conference, GMTA Spring Auditions, and the North Georgia Guitar Summit, among others. Students from Luther Enloe's studio were prizewinners in the 2013 International Home of the Legends Thumbpicking Competition in Muhlenberg, Kentucky, and the Finger-Style Guitar Division of the 2013 Georgia State Fair Fiddlers' Convention Competition. Since 2012, he has served as the first Guitar Chair for the Georgia Music Educators Association. Additionally, he serves as a board member to the ASTA Guitar-in-the-Schools Taskforce, on the Atlanta Guitar Guild, and is in print as a guitar materials reviewer for the American String Teacher Journal. He lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with his wife, Victoria, their son, Cole, and daughter, Lillian.
